Times Flying and I am Standing Still

I cannot believe how quickly this semester has gone by! It seems like only yesterday I arrived here and started one of the hardest semesters I will ever have. Despite everything that has happened this semester I wouldn't change a minute of it, because it would not have made me the person I am today. School has been a more challenging semester, I was taking Chem 105 and Bio 254 both demanding classes I hate to admit but Chem REALLY took over my life Bio for surely took a back seat. I studied chemistry at least 2 hours a day, and it became a joke between my friends and I that we were dating. Lots of people ask me "got any guys in your life?" or "are you dating anyone?" Each time I was asked I had two responses, 1. "No I go to school!" (i would say this with an almost insulted look on my face, as in UM I GO TO COLLEGE I don't come here to date...totally kidding, although I know I will never get married, I will tell you more about that later in the post) or I would say "Yah I am dating this really great guy his name is Chemistry, It's an abusive relationship but I can't seem to tare myself aware from him!" And that would be all laughs....well at first people were really excited then they realized it was a fake. I am glad to say that now I refer to Chemistry as my boyfriend, it makes me feel like life is more exciting than just school. ahah I have also met and HUGE amount of people in the library this semester, cause I spent so much time there, I have a legitmate seat in the library and most people know I sit there and keep it vacant every now and then we have the newbies coming and they just don't know that it is my seat so I let them sit there just that once. Many people tell me that I spend way too much time there! Which is kinda bad, cause they ALL assume I am some sort of genious who gets all A's and well hellen that is just not me, and so I have tried to cut my time spent at the library maybe they will think I am slacking and my B grades won't seem so bad to them. Hahah. That is pretty much all of school has to offer in stories.

This semester has also been harder because my FAMILY moved across the world to Australia, and it has been hard knowing that they are so far away. Before I could call home whenever I wanted (I am a total Mommy's girl and love talking with her) But not I have till wait till at least 4 pm to talk and I has just been hard communicating, and I miss them very much!! I am so excited to go home for Christmas and stay there in the SUNNY weather till April. This is one of the reason's I am so thankful for technology (skype, facebook, cell phones) the way we keep connected.

Last reason why this semester has been not as great, I have had some friend problems. My whole life drama has NEVER followed me around, and have NEVER had friend issues. Senior year the last 2 months of school drama hit me like a ton of bricks, that is a different story though...anyway this semester I came back to school for two reasons: 1. Because I had an overwhelming feeling like I needed to be here (still don't know why) and 2. Because I wanted to spend more time with one of my best friends before we separated for a little while. Well lots of things happened, and we didn't end up spending as much time together as I would've liked, and I totally take into account all the events that occured, because LIFE HAPPENS and it is through life that we learn these valuable lessons. What I have learned this semester include: - friends are more important than you realize. Friends are the people who will be there for you (especially at school) when your family isn't. Friends will help you through the tough times and rejoice with you through the good times. Friends are the one's that will cry with you when you are sad (or if you don't cry and just get choked like lots of us they come and lay with you even though they are in a towel just out of the shower and still wet). Just like any other relationship friendship takes work, and if you are on a bumpy road you have to give more effort than just a day, and effort has to come from BOTH parts, not just one side. Friends are going to grow with you, and see you grow and change. Friends are going to be there for you your whole life, no matter what fights or arguments, or anything else that happens along the way. Some friends you will consider family no matter what happens! Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget. There is a qoute I found and it goes like this "Everything is okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end" If there is one piece of advice I could give out, it would be to NEVER give up, just look at that quote "if it's not okay, its not the end" Although the semester didn't go as I had hoped I wouldn't change one minute of it because I wouldn't have learnt all of this!

Now for why I am never going to get married: Well I spend lots of time in the library doing chemistry questions. I spend lots of time in the library when I should be going out on dates, actually I never get asked out maybe it's cause I spend too much time in the library. ANYWAY my chemistry teacher Sis. Hanks...love her to death! She is awesome, is not married. And after a really hard test that most of us didn't do too hot on, she decided to give us a little speech. She said that you know in life you have a plan, and maybe some of us are wanting to be dentists or doctors and you know maybe that's not the path we should be on. Her whole life she always thought she was going ot get married and have kids, but she was always doing chemistry questions when she should've been going out on dates and at first it was hard, but now that she has realized her purpose in life she is okay with it...DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN my life was foreshadowed by Sis. Hanks. THANK YOU! I now know where I will be in 15 years....I will be teaching at a HS coaching track and field, and also being a personal trainer...no husband, no kids, yes this is hard to think of at first since I am only 19...but I am okay with it thanks to Sis. Hanks!!!

Hopefully you have enjoyed reading this post. I shall post more often, and post pictures. Till next time...xoxo Gossip Girl haha.

Summer Thus Far.

Summer of '09 has been pretty good to me.  I've met lots of people in Calgary (mainly just because Brittany was friends with them when she lived here and through her I have been introduced).  Because of traveling and what not I did not have a job this summer.  By the time we were done traveling it was the end of july, and I actually head back to school the end of August so it really left no time for me to get a job.  So I have been just chilling.  I go on bike rides when it is sunny outside, so I've done that about 4 or 5 times aka Calgary has been rainy slash cloudy for several days, I am not a fan.  None the less every night is pretty fun.  There are about 5-15 of us who hang out.  I'm not sure what we even do....hahah...play games, Wednesday nights at the wave pool they let you go in for the last hour for only 2 dollars so we do that then go for wings.  It is pretty fun, lots of socializing that's for sure.  We've gone to two drive-in movies up at Deerfoot Mall they are free so they attract lots of people, but that has turned out to be fun.  We gather out blankets and people with trucks and big cars head up there and watch a movie.  On Monday night some YSA got together and played volleyball for 2 hours.  I cannot believe how sore I was after that.  5 days later and I am still hobbling down the stairs haha.

One of my good friends Kandice Palmer has a condo in Invermere, so last weekend she gather up some kids and took a weekend trip out there.  We had so much fun!! Thanks Kandice for everything!
(L-R: Brad, Renee, Karly, Kandice) Us four stayed out in the pool all night just playing.  One night we built a 4 man totem (pic is below), and we had some photo ops involving jumping into the pool. Brad took some pretty solid belly flops only because he was doing the superhero pose, and sacrificed his bod to get a good pic! Another night we had a football and the four of us were on the sides of teh pool and we would throw it to one another while jumping in.  It was lots of fun, took a while to get through all 4.  It's al ot harder than it sounds! haha

Here is the whole crew minus Topher and Max who graced us with their presence for two days!

Us girls jumping the one night!

4 man totem pole!!!!

We had some fun with out wet hair, made us some staches.

The last day we were there it was pretty windy and cloudy but non the less us girl stayed outside for about an hour or two trying to get a little tan.

On our way home we stopped and took a picture by the mountains! I love this one, the scenery is soooo beautiful!

That was the highlight of my weekend! Thanks again Kandice for so much fun!!! You da you da besT!!!!!! hahaha.

Cruising the Caribbean

When we lived in Texas we were only 2 hours away from Galveston (port where cruise ships leave).  So before we packed up and moved, we thought we better take advantage of our close commute to the port and go on a cruise.  We went on a Western Caribbean cruise.  During the 7 days we hit up Jamiaca, Cayman Islands, and Mexico.  It was sooo much fun! At first we were like "Mom, Dad we are resort people not cruise people."  But by 2nd or 3rd day into the cruise we said "We love cruises!!"  It was so much fun, tons of activites for the whole family.  Cole made a couple friends and played with them the majority of the time.  He also loved going to the arcade.  Us 4 girls obviosuly sunbathed and read books and ate lots!  There are several perks of going on a cruise rather than going to a resort.  Perk #1:  The food is much better in my opinion.  Perk #2: You save on money, instead of going to a resort for 7 days to one place, you go to 3 places in 7 days!! And I really like that, cause in a resort you maybe go out of the resort 1 or 2 days and do an activity.  Well on a cruise you do the activity in the one day, and you can still tan and swim and all that fun stuff.  Perk #4:  If you go on a family cruise, there are lots of stuff for every age group.  Kids make friends, and really enjoy themselves.  That is all i can think of.  Next time we cruise I would LOVE to go to the Mediterranean and hit up Greece, Italy, and Spain!!!

Cozumel, Mexico probably had the bluest water of the 3 places we went to.

The famjam after ziplining in Cozumel.  It was alot of fun, I wish we could've gone parasailing cause ziplining only took about 2 hours, but the people there were very nice.

The ocean in Cayman, it was SO beautiful, and SO warm.  But SOO salty.

At the end of the day in Jamaica it started to rain at a little.  This is the sign as we were driving back into the port.

This was a bar in the Cayman Islands, we met just on the other side to going Snuba.  I was just so excited that they had so much CANADIAN HOCKEY tokens.

The Ocean in Jamaica.

This is a sign in Jamaica.  We just thought it was so funny that we should WALK GOOD to keep fatalities down. I mean it is true, but sounds funny.

The family at "Welcome to the Cayman Islands" sign.  Here we did snuba. It is a combination of scuba and snorkel.  You have the mask and a breathing apparatus that has a tube up to a raft where your oxygen is.  You can still swim around pretty freely and it was alot of fun!! I would definitely do it again.

This was our tour guide when we went to Jamaica.  We climbed the Dunn's River Falls.  It is 600 feet tall, and fun to climb up.  Not hard at all!! After the climb we went the beach where we had some Jamaican cuisine, which consisted of chicken, veggies and rice.  I really like the veggies, Katelyn really liked the rice, and Brittany really like the chicken.  But all of it was really good!

Mom and Dad at the Formal Dinner.

More Winter '09

Getting Groceriessss.

In school, when we would go grocery shopping -- which happened only about 4 or 5 times -- we only wanted to make one trip up those blesses 34 steps to the third floor. So one day when we returned home, we found that we had an abnormally large amount of groceries. So that we didn't have to make so many trip in the freezing cold....i decided to pack almost all of them on myself.

I not only had groceries strapped to me and in my hands but also some were put in my backpack.

I ended up weighing 220 lbs i think.

The Spoonmaster 3000:

This is probably the most tragic story this semester. My friend Kandice Palmer had bought this piece of furniture from some guy, and she had it in her APT fall semester. Because she is on the summer/fall track I told her I would babysit it for her for the winter. Well Lo and Behold after about a month this guy came over and was like yah this is mine, I'm taking it. I was like "uh no, this is my friends, I am just babysitting it for her." We argued for a little bit, I told him if you take it you need to call Kandice and tell her. So he did, and he took it the next day. The question that lingered in my mind, was HOW THE HECK DID HE FIND WHAT APT I WAS IN? AND HOW DID HE GET MY PHONE NUMBER....some people are really good at creeping. So this is the apt the day he took it, as you can see I am not very happy.

This is me in the spot where the spoonmaster sat. You can still see the indentations.
Here is a video that we made as it was leaving us, props to Renee for her video skills in adding the music etc.

Long Over Due.

Hello!! It has been so long since I last posted, not because my life is so busy being in college (it really isn't) but merely because I am just too lazy to get on here and tell stories and post pictures. So I will split the last 5 months into a couple posts so that you can get all caught up!

BYU-IDAHO WINTER SEMESTER 2009

So winter semester was pretty good! I got to live with Renee Comfort, and she was just so DELIGHTFUL!! I loved living with her, she was so much fun, and winter semest would not have been as good, or the same without her. I had really good roommates aswell, we bonded more to the end of the semester which was sad, but still had SO much fun with all of them. Here are some pictures from the semester.

So this semester Renee and I were very creative with how we did somethings. One night we wanted brownies, but we had no beaters, thus forcing us to use our hands. It was messy, but fun, and the brownies tasted pretty good. Another night we wanted snow cones. Well that was easy to make, one we live in Rexburg in the frigid WINTER!! and snow is all around us, so we went out, got some CLEAN snow, and then mixed water with some grape propel, dipped the snow in the propel and viola! Insta snow cone!

Here you can see our bowl of snow, and the pink cup contains the grape propel mixture!

my computer is having problems. So this for now I guess.
